Paul Hollywood’s Famous Scones

If you’re not a fan of having to weigh out every ingredient and then start making whatever you are making, or if you are a busy person and need to bake something, then this Paul Hollywood’s Famous Scone mix will be absolutely perfect for you.

The Paul Hollywood Famous Scone mix can be bought at most supermarkets and online, if you are busy, why not order these, make them up one evening and they will make a perfect addition to a party, picnic or especially during the summer season.

Paul Hollywood's Famous Scones

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
  2. Line a baking try with baking parchment.
  3. Weight out 80g of soft butter.
  4. Add the whole pack of the Paul Hollywood's Famous Scones Mix.
  5. Lightly rub the butter into the scone mixture, until you get a breadcrumb consistancy.
  6. Make a well in the middle of the micture and add the egg and half of the water. Mix to form a soft dough.
  7. If the mixture is still dry, add a little more water, only add a small amount at a time. Alternatively, if the mixture is too wet, then you can add some more flour, again, only add a little at a time to get the right consistancy.
  8. Flour a surface and roll out the mixture to 2.5cm thick.
  9. Cut the scones out using a 7cm cutter.
  10. Place the scones on a baking tray, brush the tops with milk to glaze.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked.
  12. Cut in half and serve with your favourite toppings and enjoy.

As you can see from my pictures, I have turned the traditional jam and cream filling for a scone into a wonder ginger and cream filling, using the fantastic Ginger Party Bio-organic Ginger Spread, this ginger spread just makes these scones pop and turn them into soemthing rather special.
