Slimming World Ham, Cheese and Pepper Pasty (Syn Free)

We all like to have something nice for lunches or snacks, but getting the pastry pasty should no longer be an option. If you haven’t planned for a lunch, then it can be tempting to grab something quick, but if you want to stay on plan, grabbing something quick is a challenge. All you need is a little bit of planning, I think I have a solution, a tasty solution with this Slimming World Ham, Cheese and Pepper Pasty (Syn Free).

These Slimming World Ham, Cheese and Pepper Pasty (Syn Free) are great for everyone, packed full of flavour and not an ounce of pasty in sight!

These pasties are a complete step up, I was surprised at how well they turned out and actually how delicious they are. I think I have foud my new favourite snack food. What makes it better is that they are syn free on Slimming World, that is if you use the cheese and wrap as your healthy extras. If you don’t use the wrap and cheese as your healthy extra, then the syn value is 6 per pasty.

If you wanted to make smaller ones, then all you need to do is cut the wrap in half and make quarters in exactly the same method.

Instructions
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Diced up the ham and peppers.
  3. On one half of the wrap, place some cheese, top with peppers and ham. Then top the ham with more peppers and the last of these cheese. N.B Be careful not to get any too close to the edge, as you won't be able to seal the pasty.
  4. Brush the exposed side of the wrap and all around the edges with the beaten egg.
  5. Fold the wrap in half and press down around the edge, trapping in the ingredients. Crimp the edges of the pasty using the back of a fork.
  6. Place the pasties on a baking tray sprayed with Frylight. Brush the outside of the pasty with beaten egg.
  7. Bake in the oven for 12 - 15 mins.
  8. Once cooked, cut in half and enjoy. Remember they insides will be hot.

If you make these the day before, you can re-heat them up in the oven, just sprinkle a little water on top of the pasty so it doesn’t go hard. These pasties can be eaten hot or cold, so perfect for lunches, snacks, pic-nics or parties, and if yours go down anything like mine did, people will be coming back for them time and time again, they will be surprised at how much nicer they are than the pastry version.
