Tell us about your blog

Hello, I’m Victoria and I blog full time at and this year I also set up my healthy blog  Lylia Rose is predominantly a UK family lifestyle , healthy living and money blog, but I also cover home, garden and travel.  Healthy Vix is focused on my main passion of all things healthy living from a plant based diet to eco-friendly and sustainable living.

What supermarket do you prefer and why? 

At the moment it’s the online supermarket Ocado.  They are the only place that sell my favourite vegan sausages by a company called Dees so I order with Ocado every week.  They also do an organic vegetable box so it saves me having to order this from a separate company.  I eat a plant based vegan diet with no refined sugar and minimal soy, so Ocado is perfect for me.  They sell a lot of organic food and health food brands that I can’t always find in regular supermarkets

3 money saving tips for the kitchen

  1. Cook from scratch

An expensive item you can’t live without in the kitchen and why?

For my 30th my husband bought me a Kenwood food processor.  I’d really love a Vitamix and Magimix one day, but they’re around £500 each!  This is my first food processor though and I use it to make raw chocolate energy balls, soup and even our own homemade oat milk.  It’s so versatile.

What is your favourite recipe?

I love everything we make, but I’m going through a chunky veg soup stage!  It’s so easy to whip up a batch on a Sunday and have a portion for lunch throughout the week.  With the right spices it’s a really tasty and fulfilling meal.  You can see my latest batch here.

What is your favourite kitchen gadget? 

My Nutri Ninja!  It’s amazing.  I use it almost every day to make a green vegetable and juice smoothie.  It whizzes one up in around ten seconds and is so easy to rinse out and clean.  They’re not that expensive either and mine still works perfectly after around 4 years or so of having it.  It was a great little investment and much easier to use than my main blender for on the go smoothies.

Who or what inspired you to cook?

Having my children massively inspired me.  Before kids I ate out regularly and had takeaways.  I rarely cooked meals from scratch.  Now I cook homemade meals every day as I want my kids to be as nourished and healthy as possible.
