These are the questions asked:
Tell us about your blog
Lady Janey is a customer service blog where I tackle a range of consumer issues with the aim of encouraging people to get the best possible customer service experience for their money At the same time I champion excellent customer service wherever possible in order to encourage companies to work harder to please their customers and improve the standard of customer service they provide.
What supermarket do you prefer and why?
Sainsburys all the way as I’m a creature of habit. Prices are very reasonable and competitive and I love their special offers especially the regular 25 % of six bottles of wine discounts. The online delivery team are great- always punctual and let me know if there are any problems. Hardly any silly substitutes, friendly, efficient drivers and any fresh produce is always chosen well.
3 money saving tips for the kitchen
- Plan meals to the letter to avoid waste
- Cook and freeze whatever you can
- Never take husband to the supermarket with you as does not understand concept of meal planning
An expensive item you can’t live without in the kitchen and why?
My Fisher Paykel dishwasher because it’s a dual drawer dishwasher which saves me heaps of time. It’s easy to use and relatively easy to clean and maintain. Less time spent washing up means more time to drink a few more glasses of wine!
What is your favourite recipe?
White chocolate cheesecake! It’s very, very indulgent but very very easy to make!
What is your favourite kitchen gadget?
My Teka warming drawer! Best thing we ever installed. No more heating up plates in the oven and risking cracks. The drawer is quick, easy and absolutely maintenance free.
Who or what inspired you to cook?
Apart from the legend that is Mary Berry, my mother in law is my main inspiration and has taught me some great recipes from the Northern Irish Belfast homeland. I would say I’m now quite a whizz in the kitchen although would really like to be able to grow my own produce. Sadly I’ll always be more of a Margot than a Barbara Good!
