Today we are going to look at a few of the different recipes you can add to your healthy diet to make your skin happy and bright.
Lemon detox water
The first recipe we have is a simple morning water recipe that you should drink every day before anything else. This will not only boost your metabolism and flush out toxins – but lemon will improve your elasticity and ginger will reduce puffiness.
- 1 litre water
- 5 ice cubes
- 50g piece ginger, cut into strips
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2-3 mint leaves
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix together in a jar or jug and drink in the morning. It might taste a bit spicy but it will do your body the world of good.
It is so important when maintaining the skin to consider sun protection as well as strength of the cells inside your skin. This recipe is a brilliant one for the morning and bananas will provide potassium, and eggs will provide protein to keep your skin strong.
- 200g Wholemeal flour
- 50g oats
- 50g raisins
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 50ml vegetable oil
- 150ml yogurt
- 25g apple sauce
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 100g blueberries
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp honey
- Add all wet ingredients to a jug and mix.
- Add all fry ingredients to a bowl, including blueberries and raisins.
- Pour wet into dry and mix well.
- Add scoops into cupcake cases, and bake for 25 minutes at 170C.
This simple smoothie has lots of antioxidants which will provide protection for your skin and keep it glowing all year long.
- 200g frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries)
- 100g frozen mango
- 100g spinach
- 150ml orange juice
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp natural yogurt
Blend until smooth!
7 vegetable stir fry
This stunning stir fry is packed with veggies that will help to brighten the skin and bring life back to your face.
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 spring onion
- 1 courgette
- 1 carrot
- 5-6 baby corn
- 1 handful mange tout
- 100g bean sprouts
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- Heat up a wok until it is screaming hot.
- Add your veggies and stir fry with ginger and garlic paste for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the soy sauce and honey and mix well, simmer for a few minutes.
- Serve over rice or with some shredded chicken.
