The wonderful people over at Sistema asked me if I wanted to try out one of their fantastic new food tubs, so obviously I said yes please. So they sent me the Sistema FreshWorks Medium Square Storage Container 1.5 L to try out and get my thoughts.
If you’re anything like me, you will have food tubs for lunches, left overs, storing of certain products and loads more. I’m sure that I don’t do anything special compared to anyone else. One thing that always happens to me is the my tubs never last, the lid or a clip breaks and then I don’t use it and it ends up in the bin.
So what is this all about?
The Sistema FreshWorks Medium Square Storage Container is a little different to any other tub that I have ever had before. Firstly it has a built-in Fresh Vent, this means that the tub can regulate the flow of oxygen and CO2, which in turn gives the best environment to keep whatever you are storing. In short it means that whatever is being stored will last longer and will then mean less waste.
So does it work? There is only one simple answer and that is YES.
I use my Sistema FreshWorks Medium Square Storage Container for my lunches, while it is the summer, I like to make a nice fresh salad and this tub means that it is still as fresh at lunch time as it was when I made it in the morning.
What makes this tub even better is at the bottom of the tub is what Sistema call a Crisp Tray. This lifts the food from the bottom of the tub, so it doesn’t sit in any moisture. I have tried this with my salad and it keeps it out of the way.
Now Sistema have a great range of sizes available:
- Small Square 591ml RRP £4.49
- Medium Square 1.5l RRP £7.99
- Long Rectangular 1.9l RRP £8.99
- Large Square 2.6l RRP £9.99
If you want to know what makes this box special, well I will put it into some bullet points to make it easier:
- It keeps your food fresher for longer
- It can regulate the oxygen and CO2 flow so food is in it’s optimum environment
- It has the crisp tray at the bottom to lift your food out of the way of moisture
- Reduced waste
- BPA and phthalate free
