Slimming World Ale Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 375 g Self Raising Flour 60 syns
  • 330 ml Ale or Beer
  • 7 g Fast Acting Dried Yeast
  • Pinch Salt
  • Frylight

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add the dry ingredients and mix until they are all combined.
  • Pour in the ale/beer and mix until everything is combined.
  • If the dough gets stiff, add 1-2 tbsp water and mix well.
  • Tip the dough onto a lightly floured work surface and knead for around 10 minutes.
  • Once the dough is smooth, add the dough into a bowl that has been sprayed with Frylight.
  • Cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave until the dough rises for 1 hour.
  • Pre heat the over to 220°C/428° /Gas 7
  • After one hour, knock back the dough (remove some of the air from the risen dough) and place into a lined loaf tin.
  • Bake for 35 - 40 minutes until the loaf is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped underneath.
  • Leave to cool on a wire rack, enjoy with soup, use for sandwiches and more.
