Ingredients

  • 500 g Lean Turkey Mince
  • 1 small Onion Diced
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper or Cajun Powder
  • 1 Tomato Sliced
  • 4 Baby Gem Lettuce Leaves
  • 4 Wholemeal Rolls

Instructions

  • Dice the onion into small pieces.
  • Mix the minced turkey, onions, black pepper and spices together until it's all combined thoroughly.
  • Split the burger mix into 4 equal balls, then put one ball into the burger press, replace the lid and press down firmly - you should now have a burger in the press.
  • Place in the fridge to firm up for 30 minutes
  • Put the oven on to preheat on 180°C/350°F.
  • Spray both sides of the burger with some Frylight (so it doesn't stick to the grill bars), cook on a grill or BBQ. Cook for 5-8 minutes, then turn and cook for another 5-8 minutes. Keep turning every 5 minutes, and check the internal temperature reaches 75°C or higher (165°F or higher).
  • Serve on your a roll of your choice. We used our HEB allowance and had a 60g wholemeal roll

Notes

For making the burgers, there are two very clear methods. If you are making a stuffed burger, you can do either of the following:
  1. BURGER PRESS: Split the burger mix into 4 equal balls, then put one ball into the burger press, replace the lid and press down firmly - you should now have a burger in the press.
  2. BY HAND: Split the mixture into 4 equal balls. Flatten the balls on a chopping board, make sure the burgers are the right shape and size for your burger bun.
