I think it’s obvious by now that 2022 is the year of the air fryer. With the rise in energy costs and the mission of healthier eating, it seems everyone has invested in an air fryer and I don’t blame them. You can literally do anything in the air fryer and that’s why I’m showcasing this air fryer jacket potato recipe to prove that.

I have the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone 7.6L Air Fryer AF3 and I have to say I love it. Sure they’re not as big as an oven but there are so many benefits to having one. They’re cheaper to run, healthier because you really don’t need oil and they look really cool!

I do wish the draws were a little bigger but then I might as well use the cooker! This air fryer baked potato recipe will do you four big potatoes easily or several smaller ones. Either way, you’ll have your jacket potatoes cooked in half the time.

This air fryer jacket potato recipe is actually quite simple to make. I know some people like to put their potatoes in tin foil to cook faster, personally, I don’t care about all of that and getting more tin foil is expensive and added costs are not something we need these days!

With this air fryer baked potato recipe you’ll want your potatoes the same size so they all take the same time to cook. Of course, you don’t want to be measuring them in-store but roughly the same size will do and it’ll mean you don’t have any hard potatoes when you dig into them!

Getting The Best Air Fryer Jacket Potato

There are a few things I’d do if you’re looking to have the best result with your potatoes. Also, it’s super weird talking about an air fryer baked potato recipe when I’d normally put them in the oven for an hour, comparing that to the time it takes in the Ninja is unreal and I’m saving a fortune!

Make sure you poke your jacket potatoes with a fork so that they can cook all the way through. I also always spray mine with some oil, normally frylight to give them a crisp jacket. You can also put some herbs, salt or pepper on them with the oil so that it sticks.

I wouldn’t put too many in the air fryer either. If you’re looking for the yummiest air fryer baked potatoes then you’ll want to give them space to cook evenly and if you overcrowd them they’ll take longer and might not be done in areas.
