Healthy Eating and Having Treats
Following a healthy eating plan or a diet, the one thing that everyone automatically does is deprives themselves from certain foods or treats.
I completely understand why people do it, I’ve even done it myself, but I quickly learnt that a little bit of what you fancy is a good thing and will actually compliment a healthy eat or weight loss journey.
If you deprive yourself of everything that is “naughty” then you will snap, fall off the waggon and then feel guilty as a result.
Slimming World Chocolate Cake Squares

They are also great for an evening treat or even an adult or children’s party and I know your guests won’t be able to tell the difference.
I made these for work and no one knew that is was a Slimming World recipe, so that’s a win right?

How Many Syns In Slimming World Chocolate Cake?
These chocolate cake squares are delicious and ideal for desserts, treats, birthdays and more.
There has been some changes to syn values when Slimming World made some amendments.
That means that each square comes in at 4 syns each. That’s really not that much when you think about the yummy treat you’re going to have once you have a perfect slimming world day!
Slimming World Chocolate Cake Cost
Who doesn’t like chocolate?
I know, strange people. Chocolate is good for you in moderation. This is a cheap cake to make with the whole cake costing just over than £1. This is absolutely perfect for lunch boxes, birthdays and more.
When you bake your own cake from scratch, it is far more rewarding and fun than buying a pre-made cake from the shops.
I wouldn’t even recommend using the cake mixtures either. Making a cake from scratch means you have complete control over what goes into it and what it will turn out like.

So is it less syns for the dark chocolate instead of the milk chocolate chips?
That is correct.
What sort of sweetener do you use in the cakes ?
I use one from Aldi or Sukrin:1. If you use the one from Aldi, you will have to syn that.
In the oven cooking, but l have added some orange flavouring – So am hoping for a Chocolate Orange Sponge 😁
This sounds amazing, how did it turn out?
What size of tray did you use? Or suggest using?
Hello I am making this cake for my birthday I was wondering how long you have to back it in the oven for? Thank you
Hi Kate, the cake needs baking for 15 – 20 minutes based upon your oven and the skewer test.
Just made this for my partners birthday and it’s perfect!
I want to lose weight can you help me lose weight 2lb
If you do some meal planning and follow some of my recipes, that should help.
Hi Miranda, I have checked the recipe and yes once cut into the size needed, they are 0.5 syns per serving. Everyone loves cake, so these are perfect to try.
Hi Matt, I’m new to slimming world, just joined! These chocolate cakes sound, amazing are they definitely only 0.5 syn per serving ? Isn’t there a syn value for spread, flour chic chips , sweetener ? I’m desperate to try them!!!????❤️❤️
Unfortunately this is not half a syn per slice. I have worked out it is 3 syns a slice. You total up all the syns used and divide the total by number of slices.
100g flour- 16 syns
50g light spread- 18 syns
2 tblsp cocoa powder- 5 syns
1tsp BP- 0.5 syn
4 tblsp sweetner- 2
25g choc chips- 6.5 syns
Total 48 syns / 16 slices = 3 syns per slice
You are correct Katie, I’m currently going through old posts and making amendments due to the changes made by Slimming world. When this was originally done, it was half a sub per slice. Update will happy shortly on this
I doubled up quantity as thought mix wouldnt be enough for a cake. I’m glad I did.
