Fancy some healthy sausage rolls? I wouldn’t say no either. These low-calorie sausage rolls are the perfect treat for any time of day. You can have them for lunch, take them on a picnic or just enjoy them as a healthier snack! What’s not to love?
I’ve been wanting to make healthy sausage rolls for a while now I’ve just never had a chance to get round to doing it. I’m so glad that I finally managed to make some because they taste amazing. These low-calorie sausage rolls are the perfect treat and if you’re feeling naughty you can add cheese.
One thing I like about these low-calorie sausage rolls is that they’re super easy to make. When I looked at various recipes I was a little put off because a few of them were way too complicated. I decided to make them a little easier to make and that’s how we have easy healthy low-calorie sausage rolls.
Low-Calorie Sausage Rolls
These healthy sausage rolls are easy to make and can be done easily in the oven. I’d suggest using silicone muffin trays so that they’re easier to take out once cooked and to save on washing up because washing up metal trays is annoying!
You can also make these in an air fryer if you wanted to, however, I will say that will take longer and you don’t always want to be waiting around for something to cook in my opinion. I would also point out that if you’re adding cheese they can get a little messy and cleaning air fryers can be difficult to do at times.
Why Make Healthy Sausage Rolls?
There are loads of reasons why you should make these low-calorie sausage rolls and why they’re healthy. Make sure you use the right sausages or sausage meat for starters. You can get low-calorie sausages and if you can find some with lower calories than the ones I’ve used, go for it.
You can keep them in the fridge for at least 5 days in an airtight container or they can be frozen if you want to keep them for a later date, not that they’ll last that long before they are eaten. These low-cal sausage rolls are also perfect for any lunch and I’ve made them a few times for picnics, days out and lunches and everyone loves them.
When I say everyone loves them, I mean it. My younger brother loves these sausage rolls although he’d rather have the ones with cheese in them that’s for sure. Use Red Lecister if you’re going to add cheese so that they look even better! Oh, and if you’re hosting a party, they’re perfect!!
