Slimming World Diet Coke / Coke Zero Chicken

Like a lot off people, I like to cook, especially if I can make something quick and tasty. There are days I don’t mind spending time in the kitchen to work on a delicious meal, but then there are days where I want something quick. If you are an avid Slimming World follower, then using a fizzy drink in your cooking isn’t something strange, but if you are new to Slimming World or just looking for a nice recipe to cook for the family then this Slimming World Diet Coke / Coke Zero Chicken should be right up your street.

Now I’m not sure if this is in any of the slimming world recipe books, but this is certainly one of the favourites in my house.

Slimming World Diet Coke / Coke Zero Chicken gives the dish a barbecue (BBQ) flavour, without all of the added extras needed to make a “normal” BBQ sauce. Not only is this a great dish for the family and trust me, but I have also made this for people who don’t follow Slimming World and get told every time how nice the recipe is.

Why cook with fizzy drinks?

Now I thought about cooking with fizzy drinks previously and thought it would be a crazy idea, but you know what, it seriously works, if we take the slimming world cola chicken, this turns into a BBQ style chicken, you also can try slimming world Fanta chicken, which turns more into sweet and sour, if you fancy a slow-cooked meal, then the slimming world diet coke gammon is mouthwatering and delicious. So if we move away from main meals, there are some great desserts that you can make with coca cola and I have to say that this slimming world diet coke chocolate cake is just what is needed. The coke chocolate cake does come with a warning, it is so good, just try not to eat it all!

How Many Syns Are In A Slimming World Coke Chicken?

This Slimming World Cola chicken is the perfect meal for the family, for people who are following Slimming World, you will be pleased to know that this is SYN FREE. This Slimming World Coca Cola Chicken will be a sure hit for the family, my in-laws absolutely love it when I cook this meal, I also make a vegetarian option using Quorn chicken style pieces for my sister-in-law who always like me to make a little extra so she has some for lunch at university.

Diet Coke vs Coke Zero

If you are looking at Diet Coke and Coke Zero and thinking what are the differences, well in all fairness, not a lot. There is a slight recipe difference between the two, but for the purposes of what we are looking at them for, they are the same thing. If you have a bottle of diet coke or a bottle of coke zero, you will get the same results. I know this for sure as I have tried both, just to see if there was much of a difference. There isn’t. So diet coke vs coke zero, in terms of the recipe, whatever you prefer. If you don’t want to use coke for a recipe, then you can use fanta, just have a look at my fanta chicken recipe.

Diet Cola Chicken Cost

Like I have previously mentioned, this diet coke chicken is an absolute favourite in my house and a classic on slimming world. This is a recipe that can go a long way and can also change, you can use up some vegetables that are in the fridge, so nothing goes to waste.

This is a cheap healthy recipe, one that I know the family will absolutely love. This is loved by both meat-eaters and non-meat eaters alike. For a vegetarian option, you can do one of two things, you can use Quorn chicken style pieces, this is beautiful with that or just use vegetables, add whatever you like, just not a vegetable with a lot of water in it, butternut squash, courgettes (zucchini’s), potato or whatever you like.

If you’re cooking on a low budget you can make fantastic meals for 4 people, all you have to do is make a plan, if you don’t know where to start with food planning, I would suggest checking out my post on meal planning, that should give you some tips for sure.

You don’t want to waste any ingredients, so what you can do with some of the leftovers is make some fantastic recipes such as Slimming World Sweet and Sour Chicken or a Chicken Spaghetti Carbonara or a delicious lemon chicken traybake or even lunches/snacks with these Chicken and Sweetcorn Pasties.
