Depending on the size of your slow cooker will depend on how many chicken breasts you can put in it. As there are only two of us we use two large chicken breasts surrounded by lots of yummy vegetables and enough sauce to coat it all.
The trick is to make sure everything is covered in the sauce while the slow cooker is on, otherwise, it won’t cook everything and you’ll have very hard veg and won’t be able to eat them.

Slow Cooker Hunters Chicken Recipe
Equipment
- Slow Cooker
- Chopping Board
- Kives
- Vegetable Peeler
Ingredients
- 4 Large Chicken Breasts
- 4 Bacon Medallions All fat removed
- 150 g Carrots Peeled and Sliced
- 2 Medium Onions Sliced
- 500 g Passata
- 1 Clove Garlic Crushed
- 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 3 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- 5 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tsp Mustard Powder
- Black Pepper
Instructions
- In a saucepan, add the passata, mustard powder, Worcestershire Sauce, Balsamic Vinegar, Paprika, Garlic and some black pepper. Simmer on a low heat until the sauce thickens.
- While the sauce is simmering, peel the carrots and onions and slice them up. Spread them over the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the 4 chicken breasts on top of the vegetables. Top the chicken with the bacon.
- Once the sauce has thickened, carefully poor the sauce over the chicken.
- Leave to cook for 6 – 8 hours.
- 20 minutes before you are ready to serve, top the chicken with the grated cheese and leave it to melt.
- Once the cheese has melted, serve it with mashed potatoes and enjoy.
