Christmas is upon us, just like it is every year and we love it here at Mattscafe, which is why I’m always finding new slimming world Christmas recipes to enjoy. Isn’t Christmas about spreading festive joy after all and what better way than by making yummy food for everyone to snack on!
Christmas in my opinion is spending time with loved ones, trading funny stories and jokes and of course eating way too much! That being said, Christmas should be a painful time and in a lot of cases we end up putting on loads of weight without noticing until it’s far too late! This is why I like to make it a slimming world Christmas for me and my family.

Festive Slimming World Christmas Recipes
This low syn Christmas cake is the perfect treat to enjoy at Christmas. It’s cake in texture, sticky and yet full of flavour that shouts Christmas in your mouth! Christmas doing slimming world can be really difficult though, there aren’t loads of recipes and the recipes there are can be full of syns!
That’s why I’m trying to make as many recipes as possible that are fit for Christmas and also low in syns, low syn Christmas food is exactly what they need! If you fancy another yummy slimming world Christmas recipe, try these slimming world mince pies, to die for!
How Many Syns In A Christmas Ginger Traybake Recipe? – 3
You might be thinking, oh another slimming world Christmas recipe, bound to have loads of syns! Well, you’d be mistaken, I thought it would also have quite a few syns but in fact, there’s only 3 syns a slice. These are very much like my slimming world chocolate cake bites, low in syn and high in flavour.
This recipe is super easy to make and it’s even better that they have hardly any syns in them. Slimming world cakes can be full of syns but not if you follow some of my recipes! There’s no reasons to hate slimming world at Christmas!

Christmas Ginger Traybake recipe
I really hope you like this slimming world Christmas recipe, it’s one of my favourites and I can’t get enough of it! I took it into work in September and it didn’t even last a day and there’s only 12 people on my team so that really says everything doesn’t it!
Let me know if you made this gingerbread traybake and if you did anything different to it that I didn’t try? I love a nice sprinkle of icing sugar on top to make it really festive but you don’t need to add that if you don’t want to, it’s more of a personal choice. I just thought if I’m making a festive slimming world recipe, it needs to look extra festive!

Christmas Gingerbread Traybake Cake Recipe
Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
- Silicone Spatula
- Silicone Baking Tin
Ingredients
- 150 g Self Raising Flour 24 syns
- 4 tbsp Golden Syrup 10 syns
- 2 tbsp Black Treacle 4 syns
- 2 tbsp Sunflower Oil 12 syns
- 6 Eggs
- 6 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 tsp Baking Powder 1 syn
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
- Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix together until thoroughly combined.
- Pour the cake mixture into the silicone baking tin and make for 20 minutes.
- Check that the cake is fully cooked by using a skewer. Put a skewer into the middle of the cake, if it comes out clear, its baked, if there is wet mixture, then leave in the oven for another 5 minutes, and repeat.
- Once cooked, leave to cool.
- Cut into 24 even pieces and enjoy.
